Joyce A. Jansen passed away peacefully on October 25, 2018 at the age of 58. She is survived by her loving husband, David W. Jansen, her 4 children and 3 children in-law; Ross & Kelly Jansen, Kent & Melisha Jansen, Jenna & Brad Nieport, and Jared Jansen; 2 precious grand-daughters, Madison Nieport and Bailey Jansen.
Joyce was born in Coldwater, OH to Ralph & Esther Severt on January 22, 1961. She married Dave on April 7, 1984. She is survived by siblings; Jane & Lavern Fiely, Jerry & Terry Severt, Robert Severt, Karen & Ken Hoying, and Linda & Mark Backs; in-laws, Jane Smith, Diane & Ron Ford, and Ken & Bev Jansen. She was preceded in death by Jeff Smith Sr., Steve Miller, and Kimberly Miller.
Joyce worked as a respiratory therapist at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. She became an RN and worked in the ICU at Joint Township District Memorial Hospital in St. Marys, Ohio. She also worked at Mercer County Health Department as Director of Nursing.
Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday October 30 at Covenant Community Church, Coldwater. Burial will follow at St. Elizabeth Cemetery, Coldwater. Friends may call on Monday from 2-8 pm and on Tuesday from 9-10AM at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Coldwater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mercer County Cancer Association or the Mercer County Prevention Coalition.
